Welcome to Courtship. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

what courtship is, and isn't

Courtship is a matchmaking platform that helps players find each other and arrange to share courts.

• We do not own, operate, or inspect any venue.

• We do not book courts. Court reservations happen directly with the venue or through third-party booking services (such as Matchi or Playtomic), under their own terms.

• We do not vet players. Skill levels and profile information are self-reported by users.

your account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Courtship. Keep your login details secure, give accurate information, and hold only one account per person. You can sign in with an email and password or with Google.

playing at your own risk

Sport involves an inherent risk of injury. Courtship is not responsible for injuries, accidents, property damage, disputes between players, court fees, no-shows, or venue conditions. Because you may arrange to meet people you haven't met before, use common sense: meet at the public venue, arrange your own transport, and don't share more personal information than you're comfortable with. You are responsible for your own safety when meeting other players.

rules of conduct

You agree not to:

• harass, threaten, or discriminate against other players;

• misrepresent yourself (fake name, fake skill level, impersonation);

• use the app for any commercial purpose (coaching sales, advertising) without our written consent;

• attempt to access data or functionality you are not authorised to use, or interfere with the operation of the service.

You can report players or matches in the app. We may remove content, cancel matches, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

match etiquette

Hosts control their matches and may accept, decline, or remove participants. If you join a match, show up — repeated no-shows may lead to account suspension. If you can't make it, leave the match as early as possible (the app blocks leaving within 12 hours of the start; contact the host directly in that case).

chat and reporting

Each match has a group chat visible to everyone who joins it, including its history. Keep it civil and on-topic under the rules of conduct above. You can report a player or a match from within the app; we review reports and may act on them, including removing content or suspending accounts. Reported chat messages may be reviewed for safety.

fees

Courtship is currently free to use. Court rental fees are set and charged by venues or their booking providers, not by us.

our service

The service is provided "as is", with no guarantee of uninterrupted operation. To the extent permitted by Finnish law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.

your content

You keep ownership of the content you submit (such as your photo and chat messages) and grant Courtship a non-exclusive licence to display it as needed to run the service. Don't submit content you have no right to use. We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models, and we do not sell it.

termination

You can delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms.

governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes are resolved in the district court of Pohjanmaa/Ostrobothnia, without prejudice to consumers' statutory rights, including the right to refer a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi).

changes

We may update these terms from time to time. any changes will appear on this page and be reflected in the ‘Last updated’ date above. If you keep using courtship after the terms change, you agree to the updated terms.
